"My first recollection of the interior of a Dayton hall of justice was a view up a long, dark flight of stairs that began just inside an outer doorway. On the riser between each stair in bold, stark, white letters, the Eleventh Commandment was imprinted."
Do Not Spit On The Stars
David C. Greer
Is the great grandson of a Memphis judge, the grandson of a patent lawyer from Memphis, and a corporate lawyer from Buffalo, and the son and father of trial lawyers.
He has lived in the community about which he writes since 1937, except for a seven year sojourn at Yale. David is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, a life member of the Sixth Circuit Judicial Conference and a former president of the Dayton Bar Association. When not preparing or trying cases, scribbling or meditating on man's fate, he can be found in the taverns of Dayton in his role of leader of the Classic Jazz Stompers, an eight piece orchestra with a vast repertoire of jazz and hot dance music from the 1920s and 1930s.
